Job Description

Our client firm delivers integrated civil engineering solutions for major infrastructure and development schemes. They are known for expertise in handling complex, high-profile projects and believe in empowering our people to shape the future of our business.

You will lead civil engineering projects from feasibility through to detailed design, ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery throughout. The role involves producing and reviewing key technical documents including drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams comprising engineers and technicians, managing project risks across health and safety, quality, programme, and cost. Effective liaison with clients, local authorities, and supply chain stakeholders is essential, as is mentoring junior staff to support their development and knowledge sharing. You will also contribute to business growth by supporting bids, proposals, and identifying new project opportunities, while championing best practice and innovation within civil engineering.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Must have experience of producing preliminary and detailed Highway design (s38 /s278 Highways Act),
  • The ability to design Drainage (s104 / s98 Water Act) both strategic and detailed, foul pumping stations, SUDS, flow control structures and balancing facilities is essential,
  • Must have experience of designing Residential and Commercial external works design including earthworks assessments,
  • Experience of producing technical reports, assessments, statements, and fee proposals is required,
  • Experience in providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians within the team is required,
  • Candidate must have the ability to oversee project delivery from proposal to practical completion, ensuring quality, cost, and time objectives are met
  • Experience of managing and cultivating client relationships and coordinating withstakeholders is desired,
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation (e.g. CDM and UK Building Regulations) is essential,
  • Strong understanding of design software such as AutoCAD and MicroDrainage (InfoDrainage) is essential,
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills is required.
